Like most yoga styles, Kripalu Yoga uses classic asanas (though not a particular set or routine), pranayama (breathwork), development of a quiet mind, and the practice of relaxation. What defines Kripalu Yoga is its emphasis: following the flow of prana (life-force energy), practicing compassionate self-acceptance, developing witness consciousness (observing the activity of the mind without judgment), and taking what is learned “off the mat” and into daily life.

One reason Kripalu Yoga has been embraced by so many people is that it is designed to adapt to all body types, ages and fitness levels. It takes into account people’s individuality and personal expression, as we are all multidimensional beings, not just physical bodies. And because Kripalu Yoga helps each person get in touch with their own inner knowing, everyone’s yoga is going to look different.

And like with other styles of yoga, students notice the effects of practice from the first time they step onto their mats…

What is Agama Yoga?  Agama Yoga is a unique international school offering it’s students a powerful introduction into true Integral Yoga. Based in the authentic, esoteric lineages of Indian and Tibetan Tantra Yoga, Agama provides an updated and upgraded self-development system whose theory includes comprehensive university-level teachings, combined with those of other sacred traditions from East and West (such as Taoism, Gnostic Christianity, Tibetan Buddhism, and Sufism). At the core of our teachings is the practice of an exceptional system of Kundalini-based Hatha Yoga and Laya Yoga, two of the most powerful elements of this age-old tradition. This is an approach nearly lost today which relies on energy awareness during Yoga practice to produce a highly accurate self-understanding of body, mind, and spirit.. Practicing Yoga has effect on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels of your being. On the physical level Yoga can resolve injuries and diseases. It will make your body toned, strong, healthy and flexible. But Yoga is much more than this. Yoga hands you the tools for developing your inner world, so to become for example, a more, loving, more creative, or more confident person. It brings you closer to the secret forces of nature. Eventually, Yoga can make you a master of your own destiny and grant you knowledge of the Truth. Agama wishes to promote Yoga that resembles neither standard Hindu mysticism nor limited to fitness-oriented yoga postures. Our purpose is to offer support and clear, inspiring guidance to today’s spiritual aspirants and even those who wish to reach the highest metaphysical goal of Yoga and spirituality: Enlightenment or Self-Realization. www.agamayoga.com
